Audiences across the U.S. to the far north of Alaska have been captivated by Carol Markstrom’s vocals and the storytelling quality of her lyrics that transport to other places, times, and people. Carol is an award-winning singer-songwriter whose songs tap into Americana, Western Roots, and Outlaw Country music traditions. As a songwriter, Carol draws inspiration from many sources, and loves to tell stories about engaging people, places, and events. Some of her original songs draw from her published works and personal experiences among Native Americans. Carol also enjoys performing audience favorites delivering them with a fresh approach. Her vocal delivery comes through with clarity and emotion, and listeners are quickly engaged. Carol is a versatile performer who plays acoustic guitar and performs a broad repertoire of songs. She performs in a range of venues such as restaurants, saloons and lounges, wineries, guest ranches, coffeehouses; and is equally comfortable in a concert setting. Carol has released two highly praised CDs and a third, titled Desert Rose, has just been recorded in Nashville to be released early in 2018. Her songs are played on numerous radio programs and podcasts.
